Malacca Research covers the financial markets in Southeast Asia—Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—and seeks to provide meaningful analysis on relevant political, economic, industry, and company-specific issues. We primarily do this through three mediums:
Assessments that discuss a current issue and highlight its broader implications. We refer to these products as “Overnights” to convey the frequency in which they are posted and their timeliness.
Intrinsic and relative valuations on companies domiciled throughout Southeast Asia. We typically choose small to mid-cap companies from varying industries, and we search for companies that have a unique narrative that might not be factored into its valuation at the time of writing.
We maintain information on key economic variables, such as gross domestic product, inflation, foreign reserves, and external debt, among others. We also compile weekly, monthly, and year-to-date charts that track each country’s stock exchange index(ices) and currency. Additionally, each week, we provide a summary of notable, market-related events that transpired.
